The annual Bridport Carnival Crabbing Competition run by West Bay Sea Angling Club took place on Sunday 20th August at West Bay, 34 competitors signed on to fish the comp to see who could catch the heaviest of five crabs. There was prizes up for grabs for the Under 16 winner, for the over 16 winner and a trophy for the overall winner on the day.
All but one competitor came back to the weigh-in with some crabs which after weighing were safely returned to West Bay Harbour. The 16 & under and overall winner on the day with a weight of 963g was Aliska Andrews who won a new rod & reel with a float set up and she also won the trophy and a voucher from longs & Palmers.
The over 16 winner was Alexa Clarke with a weight of 480g Alexa also won a rod, reel and float set up.
