Congratulations to 10 year old Marley Franklin Jones who was declared the winner at the Carnivals Royalty competition at the Ivy House on Sunday 30th June.
Marley pipped Imogen Tattershall and Poppy Gawen to the top position, but judges Julie Harris, Ita Larcombe & Natalie Coatsworth found it extremely difficult to choose out of all the youngsters who entered, as they all were lovely, and showed such different qualities.
All the entrants seemed to enjoy themselves, and hopefully we will see some of them again next year….if at first you don’t succeed, try ,try again !
The official crowning will be at the community fundraising event of the Teddy Bears Picnic, where they will receive their £ prizes.! After that, their first official engagement will be to represent Bridport, at the front of the Carnival – on the beautiful Royal Float – on Saturday 17th August, & again on the Torchlight parade on Sunday 18th.
