Great to see a good turn out of Girls and Boys who entered our fun competition, hoping to become Bridport Carnival Royalty 2022.
The competition was hosted again by the Ivy House at Groves Nursery (many thanks!) and organised by Ex Miss Bridports, Sophie Gibson and Jane Boulay.

The entrants participated in various fun activities, from designing a poster to learning some dance steps, whilst being observed by Dave Swaffield (Bridport Musical Theatre), Therea Grinter (Dance teacher & Bridport Pantomime Players Stalwart) and Student Teacher Sophie Gibson (Miss Bridport 2014), AKA the Judges!.
They were looking to see how they interacted with each other, and were looking for quality traits, such as patience, kindness, inclusiveness, as well as creativity, decision making and leadership potential.
After a lot of deliberation, the winners were announced;
- Carnival Princess 2022 – Willow Jeffrey, aged 8
- Carnival Prince 2022 – Oliver Barnett, age 8
- Attendant – Maisie Grace Loveless, aged 11
- Attendant – Millie Frampton, aged 12
So Congratulations to them, & we hope that they will enjoy participating in the Carnival Procession (on the Royal Float, which is currently being constructed by Stuart Lovell and team, ) and leading the Torchlight Procession on the Sunday
We would like to thank everyone who helped with the event, as well as those who took part, and hope we will see some of them again next year, along with their friends!
